It’s been a year of grateful living!
The question that started it all was, What changes when we give thanks?

A year ago I was headed toward burnout and was stunningly short on compassion even though I worked in a helping ministry.
I put to the test the “in everything” from 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” Was the “in everything” hyperbole? Or was it an invitation?
What I discovered when I launched into developing a discipline of grateful living was that it was possible – by the unending, never-changing, always available grace of God.
Gratefulness, it turns out, is a resource available to us at any moment, in any circumstances. A prayer of thanks to God allows us to step into the immediate realities of God’s goodness.
A year later I can say that both my perspective and my heart have undergone massive changes as I have learned to see, receive and reciprocate God’s goodness through a practice of giving thanks.
I am delighted to offer another Gratefulness Experiment (January 9-February 6) for those who want to put the “in everything” to the test in their own lives.
Go to The Gratefulness Experiment for more details or subscribe below to receive a weekly newsletter, launching January 2024, which includes an In Everything quote, scripture passage for meditation, and a gratefulness challenge to put into practice.
Come discover what changes when you give thanks!
